Yeah that sounds harsh, but don't get me wrong, my wife and I actually love Jesse Cooke and own some CDs of his that have set the mood for some memorable nights at our house - of course when the kids were out that is! But this last March 5th at Massey Hall, I wish Jesse had just simply not come to Toronto, and now I don't want him to return - at least to Massey Hall.

Ovo, Cirque du Soleil’s newest touring show, has just come to Toronto. Performed under the Big Top, a large blue and yellow tent constructed on Commissioners Street, the show promises to dazzle, amaze and entertain and it does not miss its mark. Ovo, a Latin word meaning egg, stays within the theme of insects throughout the 2 ½ hour show, insects from spiders to dragonflies and crickets to fleas, all attired in creatively designed and stunningly colourful costumes. They will capture your interest and hold you spell-bound as you watch the varied set of presentations, all set to wonderfully catchy, and stunningly beautiful music.

Still a Canadian through and through this legendary writer and singer is keeping things simple and pure, all the while giving everything he has on stage in a 2 hour and 15 minute non-stop set of familiar hits dating back to 1983's breakout album, Cuts Like a Knife which opened the show.
